Everyone needs a little Mulatu Astatke to lively up their life: get right to it with this reissue of his 1966 album Afro-Latin Soul Vol. 2, recorded with His Ethiopian Quintet. Astatke’s sound is still young and burgeoning here, but his mixture of Ethiopian-style jazz with Latin rhythms and sounds is a fabulous listen.
